NEW HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

A Montgomery County man died after his car slammed into a tree early Saturday morning.

Officials say 23-year-old Barak Cushman was driving on Swamp Pike in New Hanover Township around 1:30 a.m. when he side-swiped the guard rail and crossed over two lanes of traffic.

Crews at the scene say he then slammed into a tree.

Cushman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are still investigating what happened.

Swamp Pike was closed for about four hours this morning as officers worked to recreate the wreck.
