POTTSTOWN, Pa. -

A teacher in a Montgomery County school district has been suspended after being charged with sexually assaulting a young girl.

Court documents say the suspect is a middle school teacher in the Pottstown School District.

Police say 34 year-old Jared Leimeister, a middle school teacher in the Pottstown School District,  sexually assaulted an 8 year-old girl at his home in North Coventry Township in Chester County.

Officials say the alleged incidents happened between October and February.

School officials say Leimeister is still employed with the district and an internal investigation is taking place.
