State police are keeping their eyes open for a motorcyclist with an apparent need for speed.

Troopers using radar clocked the operator of a black sports motorcycle driving at 106 mph on Route 309 North at Lawn Avenue in Quakertown, Bucks Co., at 3:47 p.m. on Sun., Sept. 15, state police said Thursday.

Troopers gave chase, but the motorcyclist refused to stop. Police said they quickly called off the pursuit because of heavy traffic conditions.

The motorcyclist, who was wearing a black helmet, blue jeans and a black jacket, faces charges of fleeing and eluding police.

An investigation continues, police said.
