Motorcyclist killed early Tuesday in Bucks County

Police said he struck a dump truck while going south on Route 611

WARRINGTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -

A 30-year-old Bucks County man was killed when his motorcycle struck a dump truck that was turning into a quarry early Tuesday morning in Warrington Township.

 Killed was Christopher Gable of Bowen Road in Bensalem.

The accident happened at 4:22 a.m. Tuesday on Route 611, also known as Easton Road, at the entrance to the Eureka Stone Quarry south of Kelly Road.

Warrington Township police report Gable was going south on a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle when he struck a 2003 Mack tri-axle dump truck that was turning left.

Police said died at the scene as a result of  injuries sustained.

The driver of the truck was not injured. Police identified him as Harry Hill III, 67, who lives along Sunset Drive in Voorhees, N.J.

Easton Road was closed from Almshouse Road to Bristol Road, with detours on Kelly Road, until police could complete their investigation on the scene and fluids from the accident could be cleaned up. The roadway reopened at 12:25 pm.

Police are continuing the investigation.
