While another negotiating session between the Palisades School Board and teacher representatives is scheduled for Sept. 10, a collective bargaining agreement was reached between the district and its support staff Wednesday night.

Contracts for both groups expired June 30.

The agreement, retroactive to July 1, 2013, is effective through the 2015-2016 school year. According to Solicitor Richard Galtman, wages will increase by $.50 per hour in the first year and $.40 per hour in the second and third years of the agreement.

Galtman also said that effective Nov. 1, the district will provide health insurance and prescription drug coverage to eligible support staff members. The employee premium contribution will range from a minimum of 4 percent to a maximum of 6 percent in the first two years, then increase to between 5 percent and 7 percent in the third year.
