Palisades School Board recognizes district's Newsweek achievement
Palisades School Board recognized the district’s ranking in the 2013 top 2,000 High Schools in the Country in Newsweek magazine.
The district was ranked 1,398 out of the top 2,000 High Schools in the country and held a celebration at Palisades High School on June 7th for the students.
According to high school Principal Richard Heffernan, a celebration was held at the high school that included a congratulatory video to the students as well as food, music, and dancing.
The congratulatory video included encouraging messages from various community members including District Superintendent Dr. Bridget O’Connell, board member Stephen Kunkel, Bucks County House Representative Marguerite Quinn as well as various teachers throughout the District.
According to Heffernan, food was donated by various community businesses and the celebration lasted for approximately an hour.
Palisades Community Foundation also sponsored the event and created T-shirts for the students to wear.
At the final School board meeting of the 2012-2013 school year, Heffernan presented board president Michael Lynch with a plaque recognizing the district’s achievement.
