PHILADELPHIA -

The city of Philadelphia is honoring the team that came one win short of competing for the U.S. championship in the Little League World Series.

The Taney Dragons arrived home Sunday to a hero's welcome and Mayor Michael Nutter says plans are in the works for a parade to honor the team on Wednesday.

The Philadelphia Phillies are also honoring the team at their game Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park.

The Dragons were eliminated Thursday night by Chicago’s Jackie Robinson West.

Pitcher Mo'Ne Davis became a national star when she became the first girl to throw a shutout in the series.

The parade time and route haven't been announced yet.
