Authorities in Chester County are trying to track down the man they say robbed a gas station at knife point.

Police say the robbery happened just after 4 a.m. Friday at the Sunoco station on the 2200 block of Pottstown Pike in South Coventry.

Police say the man, wearing a bandana to cover his face, held a knife to the throat of the cashier.

The suspect ran away with an unknown amount of money taken from the cash register.

Police say a getaway car was waiting for him. The vehicle, a maroon sedan, was last seen traveling north on Route 100.

Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police barracks in Embreeville at 610-486-6280.
