Hospital dining is being taken to a whole new level in Montgomery County.
Pottstown Memorial Medical Center will soon offer automated room service.
The program, dubbed "Dining on Call”, will allow patients to order their meals from restaurant-style menus when they are ready to eat, officials said.
The meal will then be delivered to the patient's room within 45 minutes of it being ordered, officials said.
The new program will address each patient's individual nutritional needs and filter diet prescriptions and allergens while, at the same time, giving patients control over something during their hospital stay, thus increasing their level of satisfaction and comfort, officials said.
Patients will also have the opportunity to supplement their breakfast and/or dinner meals during traditional hours.
