Residents displaced, dog dies in Montgomery County fire
An apartment building fire in Montgomery County has left at least six people displaced and a dog dead.
The fire broke out around 10 a.m. Saturday in a four-unit apartment building off Old Reading Pike in West Pottsgrove Township.
Officials said at least six tenants are displaced. One of the apartment units appears to have been destroyed.
Officials said the fire began in a downstairs apartment. The resident of that apartment was not home at the time of the fire. A large-breed dog died in the apartment, despite a rescue attempt by another tenant.
Fire crews needed about 45 minutes to get the blaze under control.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
