Streets in a new Sellersville housing development will be named for three soldiers from the Bucks County borough who were killed in the Vietnam War.
Mayor Thomas C. Hufnagle reported Sellersville Borough Council voted to name the streets for former borough residents Randall Moore, Stanley Cope, and Clifford Van Artsdalen.
Moore and Cope were killed in action in Vietnam, according to the mayor.
He said Artsdalen was missing in action, later declared killed, but his remains were never recovered.
Hufnagle said Councilman Barry Kuhn proposed the idea after officials decided they wanted to make sure that street names in the new development were not the same as street names already used in Sellersville.
The development, Carillon Hills, is in the south end of the borough where the Schulmerich Bells plant currently stands.
The company is moving and the developers are awaiting approval from the borough's planning commission to knock down three buildings currently on the site.
The development will include about 55 homes.
