State police: Montgomery County juvenile assaulted cop

A 17-year-old boy assaulted a cop while being taken into custody for criminal mischief, according to state police.

Police say the juvenile, from Schwenksville, was seen "violently" ringing the doorbell of a residence in the 400 block of Serenity Street.

When two officers approached the boy about the incident, he ran away, according to police.

As the two officers caught the boy and attempted to handcuff him, he resisted arrested and punched one of the officers twice, causing facial injuries, according to police.

The teen is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment.
