Two wounded by gunfire in Allentown

It happened around 5:30 p.m. Thursday in 400 block of North Third Street

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - Two people were wounded by gunfire in Allentown late Thursday afternoon.

But city police report neither victim is cooperating with them to explain what happened.

About 5:30 p.m. Thursday, police got a call about the shooting in a residential neighborhood near Second and Tilghman Streets.

They learned it happened in the 400 block of North Third Street.

They found Askia Riddick, an 18-year-old male who lives in Allentown -- but not in that area -- had a gunshot wound to the body.

Initial reports were that he had been shot in the left shoulder.

Riddick was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital in Salisbury Township, where he was in  in stable condition

While on the scene, police learned another a person also had been shot, but apparently walked to Sacred Heart Hospital at Fourth and Chew streets.

That victim was identified as Brooke Toliver, a 23-year-old woman from Brooklyn, New York,. Police are investigatigating why she is in Allentown. 

Toliver was transferred to Lehigh Valley Hospital, where she also is in stable condition. She reportedly was shot in the abdomen.

Toliver was the victim of a previous shooting in the city on July 25, 2013, when she was struck in the leg.

Neither victim is cooperating, according to police who are investigating what happened.

Police have no suspects in custody, no motive and no information about the type of gun used.  Police report no charges have been filed against either of the victims.
