NORTH COVENTRY TWP., Pa. -

A Montgomery County man was killed Wednesday night when he crashed his motorcycle at a high rate of speed, officials said.

The accident happened a little after 8 p.m. near Route 724 and Unionville Road in North Coventry Twp., Chester Co, just beyond the border with Berks County.

Michael Nesspor was operating the motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he lost control around a curve and hit a guardrail, police said.

Nesspor, 23, of Pottstown died at the scene of apparent head and neck injuries, said police, who noted that he was not wearing a helmet.

Nesspor's female passenger, who was wearing a helmet, suffered abrasions and a broken leg. She was taken to Reading Hospital for treatment.

Route 724 was closed between Scholl and Unionville roads for more than five hours while investigators reconstructed the accident.
