Police have arrested the driver of a car they said struck a man and then left him for dead in the street.

Charles Horrocks was taken into custody late Monday night, police said. Horrocks, 23, is suspected in the hit-and-run crash that killed Eric Beck early Sunday morning.

Beck, 36, was walking home from a bar when he was struck by a black car that fled the scene, authorities said. Beck's mother arrived at the scene moments later to give him a lift.

Police recovered a car that matched the description of the fleeing vehicle from a storage unit hours before Horrocks' arrest.

It was not immediately clear what charges Horrocks faces.
