SELLERSVILLE, Pa. -

Investigators now say the suspicious device found behind a Bucks Co. fire house was indeed an explosive.

The Allentown Bomb Squad, who was called in by police at the scene, determined that the metallic tube contained explosive materials common in homemade bombs, the police report says. The bomb squad then safely removed the device with a water shotgun and several pieces were removed for further investigation.

Perkasie Police discovered the suspicious metal cylinder in a creek behind the Sellersville Fire Co. station on Main St. in Sellersville around 3:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The report also confirms that paperwork was found near the device, and contained a "rambling discourse" as well as identified a local resident. There is no word on the name of that resident, or their possible connection to the case.

No one was injured in the incident.
