Police investigating early morning crash

WEST BRANDYWINE TWP., Pa. -

Police in West Brandywine Township, Chester County are investigating a serious accident that happened early Saturday morning.

Police said it happened in the 1600 block of Route 322 (the Horseshoe Pike) and several people were seriously injured.

A preliminary investigation by police shows a Honda Fit was being driven by Linda Bently of Elverson, and a Ford Focus was being driven by Michael Breen of Glenmoore, and both vehicles collided head on.  The occupants of both vehicles were extricated by emergency crews.

Bently was flown from the scene to Jefferson Hospital with critical injuries, and Breen and his passenger, Megan Guiltinan of Malvern, were taken by ambulance to Paoli Hospital, according to police.

Police are asking any witnesses to the accident to contact them at 610-380-8201.
