Police search for man who robbed bank

ROYERSFORD, Pa. -

Police are on the lookout for a man who robbed a bank Thursday afternoon.

The holdup happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. at the National Penn Bank, 793 Main St., in Royersford, Montgomery Co., emergency dispatchers said.

The robber handed a teller a note that demanded money, said police, who noted that he got cash and fled north from the bank through the backyards of neighboring homes.

The robber is described as a white man between the ages of 30 and 40. He stands about 6 feet tall with an average build, brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black or dark blue hooded jacket, clear glasses and a hat.
