Quakertown swears in newest police officer
Paul Houseknecht became Quakertown’s newest police officer Wednesday night when he took an oath to protect Borough residents upon joining the police department in March.
Houseknecht will join as a probationary officer for a period of one year. Upon successful completion of additional training throughout that year, his probationary period will end.
Houseknecht graduated from Boyertown High School and joined the Marine Corps at age 18. After five years of service, including two trips to the Middle East, he played football for Mansfield University of Pennsylvania, earning an MVP award in addition to a B.A. in Political Science. He is set to graduate from the police academy in March.
