The simple brick building in Philadelphia where boxing legend Joe Frazier lived and trained has been added to a list of the nation's most endangered historic properties.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation said Wednesday that Joe Frazier's Gym on North Broad Street is on the 2012 list of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places.
The building is now a furniture store and has no formal historic designation at the local or national level. Preservationists say that's the first step in getting the building protected from demolition and major alterations.
Smokin' Joe Frazier trained for his legendary fight against Muhammad Ali in 1971 and the ``Thrilla in Manila'' in 1975. Frazier died in November at the age of 67.
