STROUDSBURG, Pa. -

A Stroudsburg man refused to put down knives, throws one at officers.

Stroud Area Regional Police officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. to an apartment at 318 Main Street in the Borough of Stroudsburg.

When police arrived, they were directed to a rear apartment, and through an open door, Officer John Miller saw Dave Grayson, 50, holding two large hunting knives.

Miller ordered Grayson to drop the knives several times, but he refused. Miller aimed his Taser gun at Grayson, who was able to evade the strike.

Police said almost immediately after that, Grayson threw a 7-inch hunting knife at Miller, who was cut on his left hand.

Grayson tried to barricade himself inside the house but was taken into custody when more officers arrived at the scene.

Miller was taken to Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg and was treated and released.

Grayson was arrested on charges of three counts of aggravated assault on a police officer, three counts of simple assault and numerous other charges.

He was taken to the Monroe COunty Correctional Facility and will be video arraigned later.
