With the hot weather this summer, many people are hitting the water. Specifically, many people have been kayaking.
According to a study, the number of kayakers in North America has jumped from 3.5 million to 8 million over the past decade.
Bucks County River Country says it has seen a similar shift with its rentals as well. "River Dan" Breen, owner and president, says kayaking used to be third or fourth most popular, but now it's a close second to tubing.
River Dan says kayaking is trendy right now and people are realizing how easy it is, how many different types of kayaks there are, and how it can also be a great upper body workout.
River Country says it now has six different types of kayaks, including new ocean-style, sit-on-top styles, to accommodate the growing demand for kayaks.
