Three area Genuardi's will have different look
Three area Genuardi's will soon have a different look--they're getting a new owner.
Weis Markets has agreed to buy three Genuardi's locations from Safeway Inc.
The stores are located at 13 Old Dublin Pike in Doylestown, Bucks County and two in Montgomery County: 25 West Germantown Pike in Norristown and 200 Ridge Pike in Conshohocken.
Weis officials said the stores will continue to operate as Genuardi's until the sale is completed.
Weis is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012, and currently operates 161 stores in Pennsylvania, Maryland, new York, New Jersey and West Virginia.
Giant Foods announced last month it plans to buy 16 Philadelphia-area Genuardi's stores.
