NORRISTOWN, Pa. -

A Code Blue cold weather emergency has been extended through noon Wednesday for Montgomery County, based on forecasts from the National Weather Service.

A Code Blue is called when the combination of air temperature and wind chill is anticipated to be 20 degrees or less, creating a threat of serious harm or death to individuals without shelter.

The Code Blue declaration was issued at noon Friday by Montgomery County commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety.
