QUAKERTOWN, Pa. -

A brave marine received a hero's welcome after returning from Afghanistan.

A surprise parade was held Saturday for 20-year-old Ryan Whitbeck in Quakertown, Bucks County.

Whitbeck graduated from Quakertown Community High School two years ago and is stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

He just got back from a 10- month tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Organizers are hailing his service to his country.

"Anytime it comes to our military. I'm a very strong believer in doing as much as we can do for what they sacrifice for us," organizer Joseph Biagioli said. "For us to come out here and do this and pay him the respect he deserves. It's something that's minute for what he sacrifices for us.

Whitbeck tells us he was surprised by the parade and he calls his friends "awesome."
