Police are investigating the robbery of a Salvation Army store.
The holdup happened two days before Christmas at the Salvation Army Family Store on Bethlehem Pike in Montgomery Township.
"We were walking out to our car like we usually do at 8:30 when everything's done and this person came out of nowhere and grabbed my co-worker and bear-hugged her from behind," explained Courtney Blackburn, one of the two employees who were approached by the thief.
"She had a knife in her hand and I went to call 911 and she saw me go for my phone and yelled, 'drop it, drop it or I'll kill both of you,'" said Blackburn. "She definitely had a knife when she grabbed my co-worker and my co-worker has a cut on her face from it."
Blackburn said the female robber had her face covered with a hood and forced the two employees back into the office to hand over money.
"So that's what we did because we didn't want to die right before Christmas," she said.
She said the thieves covered their heads with shirts and taped their hands.
"When we were tied up we could hear another voice but we never saw him," Blackburn added. "It was really scary. I hope that no one else has to deal with anything like that."
