Another drug-maker with ties to the region has announced major cutbacks.
Teva Pharmaceutical is cutting about 5,000 workers worldwide, or about 10 percent of its global workforce. Teva's U.S. headquarters are in Montgomery County.
Earlier this year, the company announced plans to close its plant in West Rockhill Twp., Bucks Co., in 2017. Teva said, right now, that timeline remains the same.
A spokesperson said the company hasn't decided where the 5,000 job cuts will come from.
Last week, another drug-maker with local ties, Merck, announced the elimination of 8,500 jobs.
