NFL Players Score One For The Environment

READING, Pa. - NFL players from Berks County joined Mayor Tom McMahon to help clean up a park in Reading Saturday.

Chad Henne, the Miami Dolphins starting quarterback and John Gilmore, a tight end for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers joined neighbors and community leaders to clean up the park at Second and Oley streets in the city.

The two are Wilson High Graduates and created the Gilmore/Henne Community fund to spruce up local parks in Berks County.

"We grew up, we had so many benefits as kids and we want to give back to our youth, we want them to have the same benefits we had and to give back to them, because this is our future," Henne said.

The volunteers planed flowers, fixed a dilapidated pavilion, and painted a mural at the park.
