Police ID man seriously injured in deadly crash on Route 22

MAIDENCREEK TWP., Pa. - A man remains hospitalized in critical condition following a deadly 5-vehicle crash on Route 222 in Berks County on Monday.

Paul Bicsak was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown with serious injuries he suffered in the chain-reaction crash, which involved his pickup truck, two tractor trailers and two other vehicles in Maidencreek Township, said officials, who had no information about Bicsak's age or hometown.

The driver of an SUV, Lauren Boyer, 45, of Richmond Township, died at the scene.   

Route 222 was closed in both directions between Routes 73 in Maidencreek Township and Route 662 in Richmond Township for more than seven hours while police investigated the accident and crews removed the wreckage.
