Pedestrian hit by car may have been drunk

MARION TWP., Pa. - A pedestrian hit by a car in Berks County on Monday may have been drunk, police said.

Johnny Lugo, 24, of Reading, suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car driven by Thomas Morgan, 22, of Mohnton, police said.

The accident happened just after 9:15 p.m. on Route 422 West, near Canal Road, in Marion Township.

Lugo may have been intoxicated and walking in the travel lanes on the highway, police said.

Lugo was flown to Reading Hospital, where he was last reported to be in good condition.

Thomas suffered minor injuries, and his passenger, Robert Casner, 23, also of Mohnton, was not injured.
