Pen Argyl knocks off Catasauqua, defends District 11 crown

Pen Argyl knocked off undefeated Catasauqua 26-20 at Catty's Alumni Field Saturday night to defend its District 11 2A title.

Nick Oyer found Mikey Racciato for a 30-yard touchdown pass with just two minutes left to break a 20-20 tie and give the Green Knights the lead.

Catasauqua responded by driving deep into Pen Argyl territory.  But Ryan Lobb intercepted Zack Bradley in the end zone with :42 left to seal the win.

The win gives Pen Argyl its second straight District title, and avenges a lopsided regular season loss to Catasauqua.

Catasauqua's season of dominance ends with an 11-1 record and a District 11 silver medal.

Pen Argyl will advance to face Wyoming Area next Saturday in the PIAA 2A state playoffs.
