69-WFMZ-TV winner of 6 Associated Press awards

Awards will be presented at banquet in State College on May 31

PHILADELPHIA - The Pennsylvania Associated Press Broadcasters Association has recognized 69-WFMZ-TV as a winning station in its 2013 news awards contest.

WFMZ won awards in the following categories, as announced Friday by the PAPBA:

News documentary:
"$elling LVIA"
Jaccii Farris, Amy Unger, Manoj Shamdasani, Albert Castro and April Chunko

Spot news:
"Tractor trailer pursuit, driver manhunt"
69 News Team

Continuing coverage:
"Student stabbed in school"
Ryan Hughes and Patrick Manwiller

Regularly scheduled newscast:
"69 News: Berks Edition at 5:30"
69 News Team

Public affairs:
"Business Matters: Defending the 2nd Amendment - To what degree?"
Tony Iannelli, Michelle Young, Alison Miers, Barry Fisher, Joel Keeler

Feature:
"Elementary school finally gets a playground"
Will Lewis and Albert Castro

The awards, which recognize outstanding broadcast journalism efforts by AP member television and radio stations in Pennsylvania, will be presented at a banquet in State College on May 31.

Entries were judged by members of The Associated Press in Louisiana.
