Brewer Dick Yuengling talks Gov. Tom Corbett, taxes, unions

HARRISBURG, Pa. - The head of Pennsylvania megabrewery D.G. Yuengling and Son Inc. calls Gov. Tom Corbett "a great man" who's trying to do the right thing.

Company president and owner Dick Yuengling said at a Pennsylvania Press Club appearance on Monday he hopes the state will adopt a right-to-work policy for union representation and reduce the capital stock and franchise tax.

Yuengling said Corbett's office contacted him "right away" after he was quoted saying the Pottsville-based company might build its next brewery in another state.

Yuengling also said he's not worth a billion dollars, despite his inclusion earlier this year on a Forbes magazine list of billionaires.

He said no one's going to offer him a billion dollars for the company, but even if someone did, he wouldn't take it.
