Person found dead in car may have been murder

TOBYHANNA TWP., Pa. - Police in the Poconos said a man found dead in a car may have been murdered.

The man was found Tuesday morning with severe head trauma in the backseat of a car in the Emerald Lakes housing development in Tobyhanna Twp., Monroe Co., said police, adding that the car's rear window was shattered.

The victim's name was not immediately released, and police provided no further details.

"We are treating this investigation as a possible homicide, and we're going to be putting more information out as soon as we have any available," said Chief Harry Lewis, Pocono Mountain Regional Police Dept.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area is asked to call police at 570-895-2400.
