Pettibone called up by Phillies; will make Major League debut Monday

Pettibone called up by Phillies, Savery sent down

IronPigs pitcher Jonathan Pettibone will make his Major League debut Monday night against the Pirates after being called up by the Phillies on Sunday afternoon.

Pettibone will replace John Lannan in the rotation, who is out for 6-8 weeks with a knee injury.

Pettibone was selected over fellow IronPig Tyler Cloyd - last year's Internation League Pitcher of the Year who also pitched briefly for the Phillies - as well as Ethan Martin and Adam Morgan.

Pettibone has struggled in two starts with the IronPigs this year, going 0-1 with a 9.64 ERA.

Lefty reliever Joe Savery was sent down to the IronPigs to clear a roster spot for Pettibone.
