Phillies trade for Michael Young

The Phillies have filled their hole at third base by trading for seven-time All-Star Michael Young.

Young is the Texas Rangers all-time leader in hits, doubles, triples, and several other categories.

The Phillies will send right-handed reliever Josh Lindblom and minor league pitcher Lisalverto Bonilla to Texas to complete the trade.

Young hit .277 last season, but hit .338 the year before that.  He is a lifetime .301 hitter.

Young can play all over the infield, but will primarily play third base for the Phillies.

Young is in the last year of his contract.  Texas has agreed to pay $10 million of the $16 million left on his deal.
