Schuylkill Co. bank robbed; 2 in custody after high speed chase

Two men are in custody in connection with a bank robbery in Schuylkill Co. Thursday.

State Police said one man robbed the Miner's Bank at 29 E. Main St. in Tremont Borough around 9:30 a.m.

The man fled and was seen getting into a silver minivan, police said. Officials found the minivan traveling south on Interstate 81 at mile marker 80.

Police tried to stop the van but it fled south at a high rate of speed. At mile marker 74.5 south, the van crashed in the median.

Both men in the van were taken into custody and transported to Hershey Medical Center for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Darrell D. Dixon, 28, and Juan Ricard Cooke II, 32, both of Harrisburg, were taken to the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $1,000,000 bail each.

The investigation continues.
