Police have arrested a juvenile in connection with an armed robbery at a Schuylkill County convenience store early Monday.

The robbery took place around 2:30 a.m. at the Turkey Hill Market at 330 E Broad St. in Tamaqua.

Police said a man wearing a trench coat and a ski mask approached the clerk outside the store. He threatened the clerk with a large knife and made the clerk go back inside the store and remove money from the cash register, police said.

The robber left with less than $100, and fled the store on foot.

Within eight minutes, police had the suspect in custody. He was still wearing the trench coat and ski mask, and had the knife and money on him, police said.

The suspect was identifed as a juvenile male from the area, and he was turned over to juvenile authorities.

He is facing the following charges: robbery, prohibited offensive weapons, terroristic threats, theft, receiving stolen property and simple assault.
