Police in Monroe County are reaching out to the public for help to identify the suspect in an armed robbery of a Rite Aid store in Chestnuthill Township.
State Police said the robbery happened about 2:35 a.m. Tuesday at the Rite Aid on Route 209 in the township's Brodheadsville section.
The suspect is described as 6 foot tall, 220 pounds, wearing a dark hooded jacket with white letters “HVAC&R” on the back and a white emblem/name on the left chest area.
Police said he showed a pocket knife and demanded money. The sales clerk was unable to open the cash register. The man then demanded three cartons of Marlboro red cigarettes and ran away.
Police believe the same man may have stolen cash from a Sunoco in Pocono Township a short time later.
Rite Aid Corporation is offering an additional $5,000.00 reward in addition to the Monroe County Crime Stoppers reward for information that leads an arrest in this incident.
