Two brothers face heroin-related charges following a motor vehicle stop in Carbon County.
Jason and David Smith were arrested after police initially pulled over their SUV for crossing into the path of a police car and another car in the area of Route 443 and Mall Road in Mahoning Township.
During the stop, police said the driver, Jason Smith, admitted to using heroin and certain medications. He also admitted that he was driving with a license that was suspended for a DUI, and that he was on probation.
The passenger, David Smith, was in possession of heroin and admitted to being on probation, according to police.
Jason Smith was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, driving under suspension, failing to adhere to stop and yield signs, and careless driving.
David Smith was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Both were sent to Carbon County Prison after failing to post $2,000 straight bail.
