Someone tried to abduct a juvenile Tuesday morning in Stroudsburg.

Stroud Area Regional Police reported that the incident occurred on Fetherman Street.

The would-be abductor got out of a green minivan parked on the street and attempted to carry the girl back into it as she was walking by.

The girl was able to break free and ran to nearby Stroudsburg High School.

Police are looking for the suspect,  who is described as a light-skinned black male, six feet tall and weighing about 230 pounds, wearing khaki shorts and a black hooded sweatshirt.

He was driving an "older mode" green minivan.
