Never underestimate the power of a tip.

Apparently someone tipped off the Pocono Mountain Regional Police that a Monroe County man was about to commit a crime.

Sources told police that 39-year-old Robert Milazzo of 9493 Juniper Lane, Tobyhanna Twp., would stage a burglary on December 28 to collect on renter's insurance.

Sure enough, later that day, Milazzo called in a report of a burglary and filed an insurance claim in the amount of $15,450 for items he claimed were taken during the burglary, police said. But the items either never existed, never were at the house or were missing before the alleged burglary, police added.

Milazzo was arrested January 7 and charged with numerous felonies and misdemeanors.

He was taken to the Monroe County Correctional Facility. At the time of the incident, Milazzo was currently out of prison on parole.

The parole was revoked. There's no word on his previous charges.
