A Lehighton woman was treated for injuries after she was involved in a rollover accident in Carbon County Monday.

Police said three vehicles were involved in the incident at the intersection of Route 443 and Mahoning Mountain Road in Mahoning Twp.

According to a news release, 43-year-old Shannon Smith of Lehighton ran through a red light onto Mahoning Mountain Road and her car was hit by an eastbound car driven by 52-year-old James Fenimore, also of Lehighton.

After the initial impact, Smith's car rolled over and hit an SUV that was stopped for the red light at Mahoning Mountain Road. The SUV was driven by 31-year-old Daniel Borger of Lehighton.

Fenimore's car then hit an embankment on the shoulder of the road.

Smith was taken to the hospital for treatment of her injuries.

Her condition was not known. There were no other injuries reported.

Charges are pending.
