Monroe County is moving ahead with an acquisition through eminent domain.
But there may be a court fight ahead.
The county commissioners voted 2-1 last night to acquire the building at 701 Main Street in Stroudsburg through eminent domain.
The county is looking for ways to combat overcrowding at the county courthouse.
The building's owner, the Lehigh County-based Grist Mill Development Company, is now threatening legal action.
The Lower Macungie company only bought the building in January but it has already undertaken renovations.. and added more businesses tenants.
