LONG POND, Pa. -

A manhunt is underway for two gunmen who burst into a Monroe County home and shot a man inside, police said.

The incident happened early Tuesday afternoon on the 1200 block of Glade Drive in Long Pond.

When police arrived on scene officers found a 23-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his leg. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.

Police say the two gunmen are black males, dressed in hooded sweatshirts and black pants.

The suspects entered the home through an unlocked front door and ordered the male to get on the floor. When the man did not comply they shot him in the legs, police said.

The two suspects took off towards Interstate 80.

Police are asking residents to remain vigilant and keep their doors locked.

"Obviously we've been getting a lot of questions about police activity on Interstate 80 and I-380. The reason for that is police were searching for these individuals who may have crossed the interstate and fled in that direction," said Christopher Wagner, Pocono Mountain Regional Chief of Police.

A 26-year-old woman who was also in the home at the time was not hurt.

Anyone with information on the location of the two suspects is asked to contact police at (570) 895-2400.
