State charter appeals board backs revocation of Monroe Co. school's charter
A charter school in Monroe County could be down for the count.
The state Charter Appeal Board has affirmed a decision to revoke the charter of the Pocono Mountain Charter School.
The Pocono Mountain School District made the initial decision.
The school came under fire last year for its finances.
Then-Auditor General Jack Wagner claimed the school funneled $3 million in taxpayer money to a church the school rents from.
The school disputed that claim.
In 2011, the state board of education overturned the district's decision to revoke the charter.
