PENN FOREST TOWNSHIP, Pa. -

A proposal to build dozens of wind turbines is eliciting threats in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

The company behind the project has requested that future meetings about it be moved to the county courthouse, just to be safe.

The company says threats of violence have been made to employees as well as to community members and the township zoning board.

Opponents argue the turbines will negatively impact their health and property values.

Supporters say the project will provide for a clean, natural resource.

Future hearings are on hold until the township can take action on the petition.
