Autopsy results released in Monroe Co. murder-suicide

HAMILTON TWP., Pa. - The coroner says a husband and wife who were found dead inside their home in Monroe County died as a result of a murder-suicide.

Micheal Buckley, 62, and Diana Buckley, 60, of the 2200 block of Ann Street in Hamilton Township, had been dead inside their home for weeks. They were found Friday after a family member requested state police conduct a welfare check.

Diana Buckley shot and killed her husband before turning the gun on herself, according to Monroe County Coroner Bob Allen.

Autopsy results released today confirm the cause of death as gunshot wounds.

Allen said the couple left behind a suicide note they apparently composed together.
