Fugitive Shawn Christy believed to have stolen vehicle in Kentucky

The search for a wanted Schuylkill County man has expanded into Kentucky.

U.S. Marshals say they believe Shawn Christy, 27, stole a postal vehicle in Greensburg, Kentucky Thursday morning.

Federal agents are asking the public to keep an eye out for the stolen vehicle. It's a dark green 2001 Jeep Cherokee with a black hood and Kentucky license plate 095-WYT. The vehicle has "US Postal Service" and "Rural Carrier" magnets and a steering wheel on the right side.

Officials said Christy is believed to have abandoned a stolen Toyota Tundra in the Greensburg area earlier in the week.

Last week, authorities believed Christy stole a school van from Luzerne County then dumped it in West Virginia.

Christy, of McAdoo, has multiple arrest warrants for allegedly threatening the president and the Northampton County district attorney.

He has been on the run since June.

U.S. Marshals said he's considered armed and dangerous. Christy is believed to have several guns, including three taken from a relative's home.

The FBI has increased the reward for information leading to his capture to $20,000.

Anyone with information should call 1-877-Wanted-2 or 215-418-4000.
