Man dies after fire tears through house in Franklin Township

FRANKLIN TWP., Pa. - One person has died after a house fire in Carbon County Sunday night.

Robert Fritzinger, 50, was killed after flames broke out just before 6:00 p.m. in an apartment on the unit block of Main Road in Franklin Township.

Fritzinger died around 4 a.m. Monday at Lehigh Valley Hospital, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.

He was one of two people pulled from the burning house. There's no word on the condition of the other injured person.

A 69 News crew on the scene says the fire also spread to a second home.

The Red Cross said it is assisting seven other people displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
